Fat Feathered Pillows (Vincent)

http://www.raccoonarts.com/Artz/01Vincent.html

Commissioned by Stalbon Stalbon for Vincent Vincent

“Atop cushions Vincent the fat Gryphon relaxes. Basking in the light of late day.”

I was requested to do an obese gryphon named “Vincent”. I obliged. I think this came out remarkably well. I definitely need to do more birds and gryphons, they are always a challenge, and fun to do. Especially, gryphons.

Commissioned by Ardenfetz for Boris

I don't get too many porcine. This is the first in 10 years. From what I've been told of him, he's outgoing and friendly, manly, and a giant ham. No, literally - he likes to loom over buildings.

This a "Painted Badge" commission. Its a small painting (5"x 7"), that get made into a Con Badge (3" x 4"), the customer gets both the painting and a laminated con badge. This is the way I am doing badge from now on.

Here is the corresponding badge: http://www.raccoonarts.com/Artz/03BorisBG.html

Sun Bless Day (Field Study)

A Truly Sun Blessed Day

It was truly a Sun Blessed Day, Praise be to Celestia!

Sometimes you just have to get out of the studio, and the house. After MLP this morning, I went for a long Bike ride up to lake Fayetteville, and found my self a nice spot on the far side of the lake, pulled out my field art kit, sat down, and doodled a field watercolor.

It was nice change of pace, fresh air, beautiful day, the smell of lake air, a stiff breeze, no expectations, no demands; just me standing there free handing it with my my field art kit. In spite of the mild sun burn, and the fact I had to dodge Frisbee-golf Frisbees (as I was standing 5 feet away from the 1st hole of the Frisbee-Golf course) it was very cathartic.

You can make out the bike trail passing the pump station, that is where I came in on. During the process a dude drove by several times in that boat. I had to add him. It was a little after high noon, and and the shadows of the freshly blooming trees of spring cascaded down the far embankment.

I wish I had remembered to put on my SPF 5000 sun cream. At least the first burn of the season is mild, and the signal that my ghostly/semi-transparent white ass will have to start using it again before going out. As beautiful as the day is, Sunlight burns! I am a creature of the night for a reason.

Enjoy *Grin*

Nice Day for a Ride

Commission for HugeWolf

http://www.raccoonarts.com/Artz/01NDFAR.html

"Timmie, the skunk as little in the way of caution as he approaches the feral wolf, and gets ready to go for a ride."

This is a prequal to anther painting commissioned by the same individual last year, found here: http://www.raccoonarts.com/Artz/01WildRide.html

This one came along smoothly, though the scanner did not like this one. The colors are all off, especially on the skunk, the darks just went to dark. As usual, looks better in person. Not sure what else to say about it. Other then I really appreciate HugeWolf's patronage.

RACCOON ARTS
The fine arts and illustrations of “Ryngs”

http://www.raccoonarts.com/

My new website is finally up! Its not 100% complete, and is a work in progress. I wanted something more advanced, and better built, but I had to accept that what I seek is beyond my level of coding. While I can do what I seek in parts, integrating most of it into the base codes of the pages with out them breaking the whole site is not possible at my level of skill.

I needed my site up, being with out for so long while I try and teach myself advanced web-design is no longer an option. Its up now, even if its not complete. The important stuff: the art pages and commission information is up. I am sure there are broken links here and there, I tried catching them all, but web-site design is not my thing. More to come in the near future. As I get it together. All that is really left is the costumes page.

Additionally, this is my new blog which I will be back-linking to the site and vise versa. Facebook, and twitter are just not good forums for a general update blog, even tho that is what I use them for. One thing at a time though.

Feel free to look over the site and enjoy. *Grin*
